Nicknamed the “Whiskey” route because the route is popularized as somewhat difficult and more expensive than Marangu route.
On an overall comparison of the routes to scale Kilimanjaro, this is one of the best routes to take, both in terms of acclimatization and cost.
Our driver will pick you at Kilimanjaro airport, after loading the luggage into the car and then you will make your way to the Hotel in Moshi. Later you will meet with your team (Guide) who will do pre-trek briefing and gear check. After these, we will go through all the questions that you might have.
:Spend the night in a hotel to rest and prepare for the trek.
Drive from Moshi to Machame Gate takes about 1hr. The drive passes through the village of Machame which is located on the lower slopes of the mountain kilimanjaro. After arriving at the park gate there will be a lunch. After lunch we start the climb to mount kilimanjaro. We walk through the rain forest (mountane forest) and we will reach the Machame Camp evening time. After arrival you will get hot water for wash. Then it’s time for a dinner and briefing for the next day.

After breakfast we leave the rain forest and continue on an ascending path Moorland zone. Which is offering the wonderful views of the mountain. We cross the valley along a steep rocky ridge until we arrive at the Shira campsite.
Day 2 we are going to have lunch and dinner at the camp. If the weather allows we will do a acclimatization (walking 20 minutes from the camp).

From the Shira Plateau we are heading to Lava Tower, called the “Shark’s Tooth” (elevation 4630m).
We stop for a lunch at Lava Tower and after lunch we continue down to the Barranco Camp.
This day is very important for acclimatization and will start prepare for summit day.
After arriving at Baranco Camp you will get hot water for wash. You also have some Hot tea or coffee plus popcorn to end up your day while you waiting for dinner and briefing for the next day.
Day 3 covers

Time 5 to 6 hrs.
After breakfast, we leave the Barranco Camp and start rocking a Barranco Wall (elevation 4250m)
At the top of Barranco Wall you will see the peak of kilimanjaro very close! From there we go down and climb up to Karanga Camp.
This is short day and we are going to have lunch and dinner at the camp.
After the lunch and rest if the weather is good we will do short walk.

After breakfast we continue to Base camp (Barafu Camp) we pass through Alpine Desert.
This day is a short day and we walk very slow ”pole pole” to save some energy for the summit!
Arriving at the camp we have a early lunch and early night just you to have enough time to relax and sleep.

Your journey to the peak of Kilimanjaro will begin at 12:00 am night. After hot tea and snacks you will start your 7-8hrs journey.
You head in a northwest direction and ascend through heavy scree towards Stella Point on the crater rim of Kilimanjaro.
This is the most mentally and physically challenging part of the trek. At the Stella Point you will stop for a short rest and will be rewarded with the most magnificent sunrise you are ever likely to see. From Stella Point, you may encounter snow all the way on your another 1 hours to reach the highlight of the trip the Uhuru Peak (5895).
This is truly a once in a lifetime experience as you stand at the top of Africa! Watching the sunrise light up the surrounding summits and landscape.
After taking much needed pictures you will descend back to Barafu Camp for a short rest and lunch. Once everyone is well rested you will continue down to Mweka Camp (3080m).
The rest of the evening is your time to relax, you’ll have a nice evening meal and a good nights sleep.

After breakfast you continue the descent down to the Mweka Gate to receive your summit certificate. At lower elevations it can be wet and muddy. Gaiters and trekking poles will help. Shorts and T-shirts will probably be plenty to wear. Before starting your final stretch, you will enjoy a traditional farewell ceremony from the mountain guides. A 2-3 hours walk will take you through the rainforest back to mweka gate where your driver will wait for you and drive you back to Hotel in Moshi.
After breakfast you will be transferred to the Kilimanjaro Airport.
